About Us
The Book Industry Environmental Council is coordinated by Green Press Initiative and the Book Industry Study Group and is formerly chaired by Andrew Van Der Laan of Random House. The council consists of more than thirty companies and organizations in the book industry including paper manufacturers and suppliers, publishers, printers, retailers, and nonprofit organizations.
The council is currently focusing on three priority areas each of which has a dedicated subcommittee. The priority areas are:
